Souls vs Blood 2

Souls vs Blood 2

"I shouldn't be doing this. My parents have just passed away, why am I smiling?" Alice held a bit of contempt for herself as she smiled at James and what he said. James hadn't changed at least, he was there, joking, smiling, laughing, warm. That was it, he had a kinda heat and he made her feel a kind of heat. The house had been cold when she was alone. Now it wasn't so bad.

"So would you mind if I moved in?" James abruptly asked while talking about dinner.
"What?"
"Well, I could move here and help out. Then I wouldn't need to bother the orphanage for my rental fees and you'd have company. Good idea don't you think?" James didn't voice the rest of his thoughts, "So I can meet the idiot who marked my prey and finish him."
"But James! Thats a girl and a guy in a house! O.o!!"
James laughs, "it's not like we are never alone and don't worry, I won't eat you haha", "for now" he thinks.
"But still..."
"Hey look, I'll help out with the chores and pay half of the bills all right?"
Alice really wanted to say yes. She was lonely and scared but she didn't want to be that close to James either cos she was afraid she'd come to like him too much. Then there was the question of how people would view them living under a roof. She didn't reply James and looked at the floor.
James breaks the silence, "okay, look, how about this, you rent your rooms out and I'll rent my room from you, a real tenant that pays rent. You can rent the other room out to some other person if that makes you feel better."
Alice brightens up a bit, "okay, I'll go to an agency or something. But for you, we don't need the agency. Then the price can be up to us anyway. Once there is another tenant you can move in."
"Great" and then in his head, James thought, "darn. Hope the tenant gets the clue and leaves us alone most of the time."

The next morning, Alice took a break from school and packed up the house. She took pictures of many various angles around the house to keep and remember how it looked like before other people would be coming into the house. The way the house looked when her parents were still using it... She then forced herself to pack her parents' things and stack them in the storage shed outside. The remaining items that could not be packed, as well as a few other memorable keepsakes she kept in her room. She then cleaned and arranged the place so it was fit for tenants to come in. In the afternoon, James came over and they sought out the help of an agency together. On the way to the agency office, James sensed the presence of a Soul sucker. So did the soul sucker sense the presence of a vampire. He stayed hidden and careful. James eyes darted about.
"Is something wrong?" Alice asks.
"Nothing much, just thought I felt something"
Harold kept following them. James was fairly fired up and tried really hard to hide it from Alice.
Alice could feel something was wrong but she didn't think it was okay to prod so she kept quiet. She quickly signed the forms at the agency and left without reading the contents of the contract well. There was something weird about James in the agency. It was as if James knew the agent and she felt they were exchanging some sort of communication even though nothing was voiced. Well, The agent was a vampire too apparently, and James was signalling to him about the presense of Harold. Now Harold was in trouble.
A single soul seeker roaming about right before the war? Threat or not, he would be hunted. Harold had to hide somehow.

James was in a much better mood on the way back to Alice's home. Alice was relieved. James left Alice at home and headed to his part time job. Alice didn't want him to leave, she didn't have the courage to ask if she should come along and she was afraid she would be a bother so she decided to just smile and wave goodbye. James did contemplate if he should ask her along but didn't know if she would like it and decided to smile and wave as well. If only they voiced they're thoughts more, things wouldn't have turned out the way they would...

Harold managed to escape a group of three vampires. But he was badly injured. He set up a temporary magical barrier to hide his presense. To his amusement he had escaped to a place rather near Alice's home, the forest right behind her storage shed. There was a small forest there, part of a park really, that was left alone and unpathed. Panting, he shook his head and tried to keep awake, but to no avail.
